Brief introduction of Mr. Sudhakar Agarwal’s achievements

• Mr. Sudhakar Agarwal studied at GIC from 6th to 12th standard and passed out in 1973 with the Biology stream. He completed his B.Sc. from M.S. College (1973–1975) with Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. From 1975 to 1979, he pursued Pharmaceutical Sciences at Saugar University, Madhya Pradesh. After graduation, he underwent practical training for nearly one year in several pharmaceutical companies in Mumbai to gain hands-on industry experience.
• In 1980, he joined his family business engaged in the manufacturing of herbal veterinary medicines for cows and buffaloes.
• Since 1980, Mr. Sudhakar Agarwal has been serving as the Director of the Indian Herbs Group of Companies, overseeing Research & Development, manufacturing operations, quality assurance, and raw material procurement.
• He pioneered the development of nearly 200 herbal veterinary medicines and feed supplements, along with 30 herbal products for human healthcare. These scientifically standardized Ayurvedic veterinary formulations became widely accepted by veterinarians and farmers across India for their safety, effectiveness, and affordability.
• Mr. Agarwal established the foundation of Indian Herbs' in-house Research & Development Centre, approved by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, enabling the company to become a research-driven manufacturer of herbal products using advanced manufacturing and testing technologies.
• He successfully transformed the concept of herbal veterinary products into the modern discipline of Veterinary Ayurveda through scientific research and practical application.
• He played a leading role in conceptualizing and developing research projects on herbal veterinary products in collaboration with India's premier Veterinary Colleges, Agriculture & Veterinary Universities, Dairy Research Institutes, and international institutions. As of 31st March 2023, research conducted on Indian Herbs products has contributed to 201 postgraduate and doctoral degrees, while over 1,000 research papers have been published in reputed national and international journals.
• Recognizing the limitations and high cost of imported synthetic vitamins and amino acids, he developed safe, economical, and natural alternatives for poultry and livestock nutrition. These innovations are now extensively used by feed manufacturers, premix producers, and livestock farms across India and more than 50 countries worldwide.
• To overcome challenges associated with traditional herbal products—such as inconsistency, lack of standardization, limited shelf life, poor palatability, and contamination risks—he applied modern pharmaceutical technologies to develop advanced dosage forms including boluses, capsules, ointments, creams, lotions, syrups, and concentrated herbal extracts with improved efficacy, stability, and ease of administration.
• He introduced advanced chromatographic and analytical technologies including HPTLC, HPLC, UV spectroscopy, GC-MS, AAS, ICP-MS, and microbiological testing to standardize herbal raw materials and finished products while ensuring quality, safety, and consistency by monitoring pesticide residues, heavy metals, pathogens, and toxins.
• Mr. Sudhakar Agarwal serves as a member of the Expert Committee of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Government of India, contributing to the preparation of the Herbal Veterinary Formulary.
• In 1986, he was awarded the prestigious Government of Japan Scholarship for one month of specialized training in Total Quality Management (TQM) at Osaka, Japan.
• He has also served as a member of the Medicinal Plants Specialist Group (MPSG) of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Switzerland.

• Indian Herbs products are exported and extensively used in more than 50 countries worldwide.

• Honoured with several Export Excellence and Industrial Achievement Awards by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
• Awarded the prestigious 3-Star Status Industry recognition by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
• Recognized as a 3-Star Export House by the Government of India.
• Secured 22 United States and European patents, in collaboration with a U.S. company, for innovative herbal extracts developed at the Indian Herbs R&D Centre.
